Little Change in Birdseeds

PANAMA - May 30/16 - SNS -- There were few changes in North American birdseed ingredient markets during the previous week.

Markets are increasingly worrying about the weather that has yet to happen across much of the growing area. In Canada, some market participants are worried that the summer could be wetter than normal in some areas as the global El Nino weather event weakens, likely switching into a La Nina event, which can bring above normal precipitation to western Canada and parts of the United States.

Even so, the latest three month forecast from the NOAA predicts the sunflower growing region in the United States will see normal to above normal temperatures and normal precipitation in June, July and August.
