MELBOURNE - May 24/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred over the north of SA will move eastwards to be centred over the eastern states on Tuesday. A front will move across the south and east of the State on Wednesday and Thursday then a low pressure system is expected to move over the southeast on Friday. Another high pressure system will move across the north on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible early fog about Murraylands and South East districts. Possible early morning frost about parts of the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and the far south of the North East Pastoral district. The slight chance of a shower over the Lower South East district, contracting southwards during the afternoon to be clear by evening. A slight chance of a showers over the far west of the West Coast district and the south of the North West Pastoral district in the late evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds.Wednesday 25 MaySlight to medium chance of showers extending over parts of the State south of about Coober Pedy, increasing to a medium to high chance of showers south of about Leigh Creek. Cool in the south grading to warm in the northwest with mainly moderate north to northwesterly winds becoming westerly in the west.Thursday 26 MaySlight to medium chance of showers over parts of the State south of Moomba to Pukatja/Ernabella, increasing to a medium to high chance south of about Coober Pedy. Possible isolated thunderstorms over western coastal waters later. Cool in the south, warm in the north with mainly moderate west to southwesterly winds.Friday 27 May Slight to medium chance of showers in the far north, clearing during the day. Slight to medium chance of showers developing over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, increasing to a medium to high chance about the southern agricultural area and the west coast south of about Ceduna. Possible isolated thunderstorms southwest of a line Elliston to Keith. Generally cool with freshening northwest to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the northern pastoral districts, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about the southern pastoral districts, northern agricultural area and western districts, and to 10 to 20 mm about western coasts and the southern agricultural area. Local falls of 20 to 30 mm are possible near western and southern coasts and 20 to 40 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges. Saturday until MondayThe slight to medium chance of showers about the coast and over the southern agricultural area clearing later Saturday then redeveloping about western coasts later on Sunday then extending eastwards and northwards over most districts on Monday.
