Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 23/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front has moved through most of New South Wales today, although the northeast corner will not be affected until early Tuesday. In the wake of this front a high pressure system, currently over South Australia, will drift east during the next day or two, reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. Another cold front is expected to cross the state during the second half of the week, with most areas likely to receive some rainfall.
Forecast for the rest of MondayA shower or two about southern parts of the western slopes and adjacent ranges, clearing during the evening. A snow shower or two in Alpine areas above 1600 metres. Fine elsewhere. Northwesterly winds in the northeast, with gusty west to southwesterly winds extending across the remainder.Tuesday 24 MayFine and mostly sunny. Early frost patches about the highlands. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds in the east, tending light in the west and far northeast.Wednesday 25 MayWidespread morning frost on the ranges and slopes. Showers developing across the southern inland, mainly near the Victorian border. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwesterly winds.Thursday 26 MayShower or rain areas in most districts apart from the far northeast, more likely over the southern inland. Snow above 1800 metres about the Alps, lowering to 1500 metres by evening. West to northwesterly winds.Friday 27 MayThe chance of showers in most districts, most likely in the east during the morning, and west later in the day. Snow showers on higher parts of the Alps.
