Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 22/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the western Tasman Sea will move slowly east ahead of cold front which will cross the state on Monday. A new high pressure system will follow in the wake of the front on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of smoke haze in the east. Mostly clear otherwise apart from a late shower or two in the far southwest. Northerly winds, turning westerly in the far south west.Monday 23 MayShowers over the southern inland and central west, more likely about the southern parts of the western slopes and adjacent ranges. Snow above 1600 metres about the Alpine peaks. Partly cloudy in the north. West to northwest winds ahead of a fresh to strong and gusty south to southwesterly change extending across the state.Tuesday 24 MayMorning highland frost. Mostly sunny and dry. Cooler. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds in the east, tending light in the west and far northeast.Wednesday 25 MayWidespread morning frost on the ranges and slopes. Showers developing in the south, more likely near the Victorian border. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwest winds.Thursday 26 MayShowers in most districts apart from the far northeast. Showers more likely over the southern inland, falling as snow above 1700 metres about the Alpine peaks.
