Good Movement Help Peas

PANAMA - May 14/16 - SNS -- International field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, helped by tightening old crop inventories.

Export movement from North America remains good, with the Canadian Grain Commission reporting that almost 83,000 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded for bulk the first week of May.

This continues what appears to be the start of a relatively strong spring shipping season. While grower deliveries have slowed, that is not surprising given the fact that seeding this year's crops is still underway.
