Mixed Finish For Birdseeds
PANAMA - May 14/16 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading unchanged to easier under mixed trading conditions.
While white proso millet, Canadian canaryseed and confection sunflower were largely unchanged. on the week. But, oil-type sunflower declined in both spot and new crop shipping positions, noted the U.S. based National Sunflower Association.
"USDA's May supply-demand report rallied soybeans early in the week but the market backed off somewhat by week's end. USDA forecast ending soybean stocks at 305 million bushels, about 120 million bushels below the average pre-report trade estimate, which was a bullish surprise to traders," the association said.
