Richardson Terminal Expansion Complete

TORONTO - May 12/16 - SNS -- Richardson International Limited completed its $140 million expansion of its export terminal in North Vancouver.

The project added an 80,000 metric ton (MT) concrete grain storage annex to its terminal, increasing storage capacity to 178,000 MT. This increases the annual capacity to six million MT.

Richardson also upgraded and enhanced its rail yard and receiving system to handle and process railcars more efficiently.

While the facility typically ships about three million MT of grain each year, it set a new handling record in 2015, shipping 5.2 million MT. The company shipped a record 551,000 MT of grain in April 2016 alone, receiving 5,400 rail cars.
