MELBOURNE - May 2/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move across southern Victoria on Tuesday producing a vigorous westerly airstream. A high pressure ridge to the north will extend southwards over northern Victoria during Wednesday. Another cold front is expected to move into the Bight on Thursday and will reach western Victoria Thursday night. The front will weaken as it drifts through southern Victoria on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers over the far southwest. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, strengthening in the west.Tuesday 3 MayScattered showers in the southwest at first, extending over remaining southern and mountain areas during the day, tending isolated in the far east. Isolated showers also developing over the northern areas during the day. Mild at first with strong and gusty north to northwest winds ahead of a cooler and squally westerly change extending from the west during the day.Wednesday 4 MayIsolated showers about the southwest contracting to the coast during the morning. Isolated showers in the east and about the central coast clearing during the early morning. A mild and partly cloudy day with mainly moderate west to northwesterly winds tending more northerly later in the day.Thursday 5 MayFine apart from isolated showers in the far southwest. Mild and partly cloudy with moderate to fresh northerly winds.Friday 6 MayIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts but fine over East Gippsland. Fine over the northern plains.
