Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 30/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high west of Western Australia will extend a ridge over northern South Australia for the next several days. A front south of WA will move across the south of the State on Saturday with another front passing over over the south of the State on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight to medium chance of showers northeast of Coober Pedy to Renmark, with possible thunderstorms about the Flinders ranges late afternoon and east of Leigh Creek to Lameroo during the evening. A slight to medium chance of showers extending across western coasts, southern Eyre Peninsula and remaining parts of the agricultural area during the late afternoon and evening, increasing to a high chance about southern coasts and ranges during the evening. Isolated thunderstorms developing about southern coasts and ranges during the afternoon and evening. Mild, grading to hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate northwest winds, freshening in the south then turning west to southwest in the west during the day. Fresh to strong winds developing about the coasts.Sunday 1 MayA slight chance of showers about the far northeast. A slight to medium chance of showers over the agricultural area and western coasts, increasing to a medium to high chance over the southern agricultural area and to a very high chance over the Lower South east district and Mt Lofty Ranges. Showers contracting to coastal parts by early afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong at times about southern coasts, easing during the day.Monday 2 MayA slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, more likely about southern coasts and ranges. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Freshening northwest winds, strong at times about southern coasts. Mainly light winds in the north.Tuesday 3 May
A slight to medium chance of showers over the agricultural area, more likely about the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Mainly light winds in the north with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds in the south, strong at times during the morning about southern coasts.
Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Tuesday are expected to be up to 5mm increasing to 5 to 15 mm about the southern agricultural area and reaching 15 to 25 mm about southern coasts and ranges. Falls of 25 to 50 mm are possible over the Mt Lofty Ranges.
Wednesday until FridayThe chance of showers over southern coasts and ranges and the lower South east district on Wednesday. Showers developing west of about Leigh Creek to Renmark on Thursday extending over remaining parts of the state on Friday and clearing from the west. Mild to warm becoming cool to mild on Friday. Generally light o moderate northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west during Thursday, extending throughout on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
