Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong and slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across northeast New South Wales. A weak trough will linger over southwest and central parts of the state during the remainder of today and Saturday. A gusty cold front will cross western and central New South Wales on Sunday, weakening over the northeast during Monday A new high pressure ridge will strengthen over New South Wales in the wake of the front.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy rain through most central, southern and western districts, more likely over the southern inland and central west. Thunderstorms possible in the west. Fine and partly cloudy in the northeast, apart from the odd shower near the coast. Northeast to northwest winds.Saturday 30 AprilIsolated showers in the west and south, tending to rain areas over central parts of the state. The chance of thunderstorms in the west, more likely over the far southern inland and southern slopes. Early fog patches in the northeast, then fine, apart from the odd shower near the coast. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening across most southern and central districts.Sunday 1 MayIsolated showers across most of the state, more likely over the ranges and western slopes. The chance of a thunderstorm on and west of The Divide. Clearing from the west during the day. Fresh northeast to northwest winds, tending strong in the southeast. A cool and gusty west to southwesterly change in the west and south during the day.Monday 2 MayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the northeast. Local early frost about the southern Tablelands. Southwest to northwest winds inland, north to northeasterly near the coast.Tuesday 3 MayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the northeast, clearing from the west during the day.
