MELBOURNE - Apr 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move over New Zealand during Friday. A cold front is expected to cross Victoria on Friday, with a stronger front moving across the State late Saturday and early Sunday. Yet another cold front will approach Victoria late Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers extending eastwards and tending to rain areas over the northeast. Isolated early thunderstorms in the west. Isolated thunderstorms also in the far north, clearing by early afternoon. Showers clearing from the western and central districts during the afternoon and evening. A mild and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Saturday 30 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, increasing in the northeast at night. Mostly dry however over much of Gippsland. Scattered showers late in the day over the west. A mild and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.Sunday 1 MayScattered showers over most districts and rain over the northeast, easing during the morning and gradually clearing eastwards during the afternoon and evening. Isolated thunderstorms possible over central and eastern districts, easing during the early afternoon. A cool day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds, gradually becoming southwesterly throughout.Monday 2 MayIsolated showers developing over the ranges during afternoon, and in the far southwest during the evening. Conditions remaining mostly sunny over the remainder of the state.
