Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 28/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is very slowly moving east, maintaining a ridge across New South Wales. The ridge will gradually weaken during the next few days as the high moves further east. A weak surface trough will linger over southwestern New South Wales during Friday and Saturday. A cold front is then expected to to cross the state during Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, contracting to the coastal fringe this evening. Fine elsewhere with northeast to northwest winds.Friday 29 AprilShowers developing over the west during the day, tending to rain over the central southern parts. Isolated showers over the far north coast and fine, partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west.Saturday 30 AprilRain or showers mostly in central parts and the southwest. Chance of thunderstorms in the west. Northeast to northwest winds.Sunday 1 MayShowers mostly in central and eastern parts. Chance of thunderstorms over the northeast. Northeast to northwest winds turning cool and gusty west to southwesterly in the west and south during the day.Monday 2 MayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the far northeast.
