Farmers Cutting Sorghum Area
WASHINGTON - Mar 31/16 - SNS -- Sorghum growers intend to plant 7.22 million acres for all purposes in 2016, down 15% from last year, according to the USDA's seeding intentions report for 2016.
Kansas and Texas, the leading sorghum producing States, account for 74% of the expected United States acreage. As of March 20, Texas growers had planted 22% of their expected acreage, 16 percentage points ahead of last year but identical to the five-year average.
