Dry Beans Stay Firm

PANAMA - Mar 25/16 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets remained firm through the past week, helped by general strength in pulse markets.

North American prices had a firmer undertone on the week, helped by ongoing interest from Mexico. This saw the index for U.S. beans inch up 0.8 points to finished the week at 143.6.

By contrast, the world pulse price index jumped 3.6 points to finish at 228.8; while the Canadian index gained 2.1 points to close at 229.8.
