Old Demand Driving Prices?

PANAMA - Mar 19/16 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their firm tone through the past week as many growers continue to show reluctance to move product remaining in their bins.

A proxy for grower willingness to sell is weekly deliveries to primary elevators in western Canada. While deliveries are more than double last season, they have showed some signs of slowing in recent weeks.

Their unwillingness to take advantage of spot markets was rewarded as some companies raised bids to new record high levels for the marketing year and life of the commodity.
