Desi Chickpeas Advance

PANAMA - Feb 27/16 - SNS -- International desi chickpea markets finished the week on a strong note as deliveries from farmers in Australia slipped behind the short term needs of exporters.

Grower bids remain below their season highs, but last week's bounce reflects optimism that buyers on the Indian subcontinent still have gaps in short term supply which need to be filled.

Kabuli chickpea markets were little changed on the week, reflecting ongoing worries about crop prospects in Mexico because of damage from frost events earlier in the growing season.
