PANAMA - Feb 20/16 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week on a mixed note, with some key market participants travelling to India for the country's third Pulses Conclave.
North American markets were helped by results of the latest USDA PL-480 food aid tender, which saw the U.S. government pay an average U.S. $1441 per metric ton (MT) delivered Gulf ports for 5,980 MT of lentils. Prices paid ranged between $1293 and $1530 MT.
With that purchase, the U.S. government paid record high prices for lentils.
