MELBOURNE - Feb 7/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure extends from south of to Bight, across Tasmania to the Tasman Sea. This pattern will be maintained for the next few days. A trough of low pressure will extend from NSW to eastern Victoria on Tuesday and will slowly deepen on Wednesday and Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayPartly cloudy about the ranges with isolated afternoon thundery showers in the far east, mostly clear for the remainder. Generally light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, with sea breezes near the Gippsland coast easing in the evening.Monday 8 FebruaryEarly morning fog patches in south, then fine apart from isolated morning drizzle near the coastal and southern parts. Warm to hot and mostly sunny inland, milder and partly cloudy in the south. Moderate southerly winds.Fire Danger - Low-moderate in Gippsland, high to very high elsewhere.Tuesday 9 FebruaryFine apart from morning drizzle patches in the far southeast. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day inland, milder and partly cloudy in the south. Light winds in the north tending southerly in southern parts with afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 10 FebruaryFine apart from morning drizzle patches near the coast and isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the eastern ranges.
