USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Jan 29/16 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 29.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain bids were lower this week as corn still seeing
some resistance on slow exports.  Ethanol production has been going down as
reserves increase and with large supplies of corn on hand buying is not very
aggressive at this time.  Soybeans this week found fund selling and
cancellations from China.  Wheat this week lost ground to follow through
selling.  Wheat was mostly 3-11 cents lower.  Yellow Corn traded mostly 1-3
cents lower with Sorghum selling 2-3 cents lower.  Soybeans were mostly 8-10
cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was
6 3/4-11 3/4 cents lower from 5.19 3/4-5.54 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 15 cents higher to 3 cents lower from 4.42-4.47 per
bushel.  Mnneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5
percent protein rail, was unchanged to 5 cents lower from 5.90 1/4-5.95 1/4 per
bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail was unchanged to 2 3/4 cents lower
from 5.30-5.37 1/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 1-2 cents lower from 3.90-3.95
per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 1 1/2-3 1/2 cents lower
from 3.65 1/2-3.70 1/2 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1 cent higher
to 3 cents lower from 3.56-3.58 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1
1/2-2 1/2 cents lower from 3.54 1/2-3.81 1/2 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail
Yellow corn was 1 1/2 cents lower from 3.72 1/2-3.74 1/2 per bushel.
Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 1 1/2 cents lower at 3.21 1/2 per
bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 4 3/4 cents higher at 2.54 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail malting
Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available per
bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 3 cents lower at 6.35 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 2 to 3 cents lower from 5.55-5.81 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 10 3/4 cents lower at 8.17
3/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 8 3/4-10
3/4 lower from 8.72 3/4-8.82 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 10 3/4 cents lower from 8.67 3/4-8.72 3/4 per bushel.  Illinois 48
percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 5.30 lower from 274.90-276.90 per
ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 75 points higher from
28.94-30.19 cents per pound.
