India Rabi Seeding Stalls
NEW DELHI - Jan 28/16 - SNS -- Seeding of rabi season pulse crops ground to a halt during the past week, with India's Agriculture Department reporting no additional progress.
Only marginal progress was reported seeding other crops between January 22 and 28, with land in all crops now exceeding 59 million hectares, down 0.8% from this time last year.
At 13.91 million hectares, land in pulses is down 2.7% from this time last year and 6.2% below the recent five-year average.
