USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Jan 8/16 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 8.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybeans started the New Year with mixed
prices.  Corn was slightly lower and soybeans slightly higher pressured by lack
of demand and Stock Market having a rough week with sharp losses.  Global
economic concerns on China growth and plunging oil prices have for the most part
stock exchanges around the globe trading with sharp losses.  Weekly export sales
for wheat were bearish coming in at 2.8 mb (76,500 mt) for 2015-2016 for the
2015-2016 marketing year.  Export sales for corn came in at 10.0 mb (252,900 mt)
for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Sales of soybeans were listed at 23.5 mb
(579,400 mt) for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Wheat was mostly 5-22 cents
lower.  Corn traded mostly 3-7 cents lower with Sorghum 2-33 cents lower.
Soybeans were 1 3/4-3 cents higher.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was
5 3/4-10 3/4 cents lower from 5.32 3/4-5.52 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 16 cents higher to 22 cents lower from 4.08-4.20 per
bushel.  Mnneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5
percent protein rail, was 3 1/2 cents lower to 21 1/2 cents higher from 5.99
3/4-6.29 3/4 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 5.20-5.28 1/2
per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 6-9 cents lower from 3.74-3.79
per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 5 3/4 cents lower from
3.56-3.58 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3-4 cents lower from 3.41-
3.50 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 3/4 to 5 3/4 cents lower
from 3.42-3.70 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 6 3/4 to 7 3/4
cents lower from 3.60-3.3.62 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail
was 3.09 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 9 cents lower at 2.63 1/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 2 cents lower at 6.30 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 33-51 cents lower from 5.32-5.50 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 3 3/4 cents higher at 8.29
1/2 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1/4-2
3/4 cents higher from 8.64 1/2-8.79 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow
truck soybeans were unchanged to 4 3/4 cents lower from 8.64 1/2-8.69 1/4 per
bushel.  Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was .10 cents
higher to 1.10 cents lower from 275.40-277.40 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude
Soybean oil processor bid was 93-143 points lower from 27.87-29.12 cents per
pound.
