Pea Shipments Drop In November

WINNIPEG - Jan 4/16 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 144,500 metric tons (MT) field pea were loaded for export through licensed terminal and primary elevators which are required to report to it all grain movement in November.

The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.

The CGC reports exports are down from the 175,000 MT shipped the same month last year and down a third from the 264,600 MT loaded for export the previous month.

Movement for the first four months of the marketing year is up from the previous season, setting a record for the period. Even so, exports will not set a new marketing year record in 2015-16 because of available supplies are down 509,000 MT from the previous season at an estimated 3.66 million MT.
