Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 30/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough entering western Victoria this afternoon will reach central areas this evening then cross the east of the State early on Tuesday. A cold front will follow, crossing southern parts of the State Tuesday afternoon. A new high pressure system will cross Bight waters on Wednesday then move over Victoria on Thursday to reach the Tasman Sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west extending to central areas early this evening and to the east later tonight. Warm, fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler gusty west to southwesterly change extending from the southwest across central and northwestern areas this evening.Tuesday 1 DecemberIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, more extensive about the Gippsland ranges in the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms over central areas early in the morning then over the east during the afternoon. Local hail with showers about the southwest coast in the evening. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh westerly winds turning colder southwesterly from the west during the day.Fire Danger -  High, reaching Very High in the Mallee.Wednesday 2 DecemberIsolated coastal showers, extending inland over parts of Gippsland and tending scattered at first. Dry and mostly sunny north of the Divide. Showers clearing during the day. Cool to mild in the south with moderate west to southwesterly winds; warmer in the north with light southerly winds.Thursday 3 DecemberIsolated light morning showers about the Gippsland coast, then fine and mainly sunny. Mild in the south, warmer north of the Divide. Light south to southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 4 DecemberEarly fog patches in Gippsland, then fine and mostly sunny. A warm to hot day in the north and west but milder in the south. Light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
