Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 26/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong and gusty cold front has brought cooler conditions to southern New South Wales today, which will extend through to the Queensland border tonight or early Friday as the front progresses eastwards. Behind the front, a ridge is developing across southern and central parts of the state, with a new high pressure centre expected to form over the Tasman Sea during Friday. A weak trough is forecast to cross the state later on the weekend, but is unlikely to bring any significant weather.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the northeast, mainly about the tablelands. Fine elsewhere. A hot evening in the northeast, with fresh to strong northeast to northwesterly winds. Milder southeast to southwesterly winds extending through the remainder, fresh to strong in many areas.Friday 27 NovemberThe chance of a shower along the coast and eastern ranges, clearing from the southern half during the morning. A possible afternoon thunderstorm about the northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds throughout, turning east to northeasterly on the southern coast during the day.Fire Danger -  Very High: Northern Slopes, North Western.Saturday 28 NovemberA shower or two along the coast and adjacent ranges, with possible afternoon thunderstorms about the northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light and variable winds inland, tending northeasterly near the coast and freshening in the afternoon.Sunday 29 NovemberThe chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, more likely in the north. Possible afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a southwest to southeasterly change extending through the remainder.Monday 30 NovemberA shower or two in the northeast, with the chance of a thunderstorm. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day in the northwest.
