Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 25/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will cross the eastern half of Victoria on Thursday morning then a rather cold, vigorous and unstable southwesterly airflow will prevail across the State for the remainder of Thursday. A high pressure ridge will then extend eastwards from the Bight to northern Victoria during Friday before strengthening during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers over southern and mountain areas with local hail becoming isolated later in the day and mostly clearing by the evening. Isolated showers possible over the northern plains during the morning. The chance of thunderstorms in the east at first this morning. Brief snow showers possible above 1500 metres. A cool to rather cold day with fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong near the coast and on the ranges until the afternoon.Fire Danger -  High in the south. High to Very High in the north.Friday 27 NovemberFine apart from isolated showers in the south, mainly about the coast. A cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 28 NovemberFine apart from isolated showers near the coast. A mild to warm day, mostly sunny in the north. Light to moderate westerly winds.Sunday 29 NovemberIsolated showers in the south contracting eastwards later and clearing. Fine over the northern plains. A mild to warm day with a light southerly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
