MELBOURNE - Nov 25/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure in the far northeast will move northeastwards to be out of the State by Thursday afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will develop over the Bight and the south of the State during Thursday and then will remain near stationary into early next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe slight chance of showers about the northern agricultural area and south of the North East Pastoral district during the morning. Slight chance of showers about the Lower South East and near far western coasts, more likely about the south of the Lower South East with some possible small hail. A slight chance of thundery showers in the far northwest during the afternoon and evening. Hot to very hot in the far northeast with northerly winds shifting fresh southwest to southerly during the day. Cool to mild over the remainder with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, strong at first about central and southern coasts.Friday 27 NovemberThe slight chance of showers about the Lower South East coast and a chance of thundery showers in the far northwest in the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 28 NovemberThe slight chance of showers about the Lower South East coast and a chance of thundery showers in the far northwest in the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly in the west.Sunday 29 November The chance of showers about the Lower South East coast and the chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over the far northwest. Mild to warm about the coast, hot to very hot inland. Generally moderate southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight on Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm near southern coasts and in the far west. Most of this rainfall is expected to occur on Wednesday and Thursday. Monday until WednesdayShowers and thunderstorms developing over the Northwest Pastoral and Monday then extending eastwards on Tuesday before contracting to the far northeast on Wednesday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north, then gradually cooling throughout during the period.
