Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 24/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies over southeastern Australia extending a ridge to the north. A cold front preceded by hot northwesterly winds is expected to cross the state late today and during Thursday, followed by another ridge of high pressure on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdaySlight chance of showers over the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot in the west. Northwesterly winds inland, fresh and gusty in the south and west during the afternoon, before a late southerly change in the southwest. Fresh northeasterly sea-breezes developing along much of the coast.Fire Danger -  Extreme: Northern Riverina; Severe: Eastern and Southern Riverina; Very High: Remainder except Southern and Northern Coast and central inland.Thursday 26 NovemberMedium chance of showers in the northeast, with the chance of thunderstorms about the tablelands. Slight chance of showers in the far south, near and behind the change, more likely on the coast. Sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the north. Fresh northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast, with a milder gusty southerly change extending through the remainder.Friday 27 NovemberSlight chance of showers along the coast and eastern ranges, apart from the far south. Showers more likely in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms over the northern ranges. Sunny elsewhere. Hot over the northern plains near the Queensland border. Southwest to southeasterly winds extending through the state. Northwest to northeasterly at first over the far northeast.Saturday 28 NovemberSlight chance of showers along the coast and eastern ranges, more likely in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot over the northern plains near the Queensland border.
