USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Oct 9/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Oct 9.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grains traded lower to end the week.  Grain traders
were cautious and positioning themselves ahead of Friday’s USDA WASDE Reports.
The corn market had staged a small rally, before traders became cautious as the
4.00 mark seems to meet resistance for the December corn contract.  Corn harvest
is 27 percent completed, compared to the 5 year average of 32 percent with 68
percent rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is well under way with 42
percent completed compared to the 5 year average of 32 percent with 64 percent
rated good to excellent.  Corn had weekly export sales of 18.4 mb with 20.5 mb
for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Soybeans had weekly export sales of 83.8 mb
with 47.2 mb for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Wheat had bearish export sales
of 10.8 mb.  Wheat closed mixed for the week.  Corn traded slightly mixed with
grain sorghum closing mostly 3-7 cents higher.  Soybeans closed mostly 1-4 cents
higher.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 4
cents lower from 5.49 1/2-5.73 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red
winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 7 cents lower from 4.26-4.71 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 4
cents higher from 6.41-6.51 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail
traded 6 3/4 cents lower to 3 cents higher from 5.41 1/2-5.58 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 3 to 6 cents higher from 3.91-
3.96 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 2 1/2 to 6 1/2 cents
lower from 3.64 1/4-3.69 1/4 cents per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 2
to 5 cents lower from 3.56-3.61 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 2
1/2 to 3 1/2 cents higher from 3.68 1/4-3.97 1/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2
rail Yellow corn was 6 1/2 cents higher from 3.85 1/4-3.86 1/4 per bushel.
Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 1/2 cent lower at 3.33 1/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 2 1/4 cents lower from 2.28 3/4-2.73 3/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or better
rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not
available per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was
not available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 4 cents higher at 6.45 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 3 to 7 cents higher from 6.17-6.48 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 1 cent lower at 8.41 1/4
per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1 to 4 cents
higher from 8.71 1/4-8.86 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 4 cents higher at 8.81 1/4 per bushel.  Illinois 48 percent
Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 3.70 to 6.70 higher from 326.30-334.30 per
ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 92 to 108 points
higher from 26.42-27.92 cents per pound.
