MELBOURNE - Oct 8/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough lies over western New South Wales while strong high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the coast. The next cold front is expected to cross the state during Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMedium to high chance of showers about the northern coast and adjacent range. The chance of late afternoon or evening thunderstorms in the northwest and on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 9 OctoberPartly cloudy on the south and central costs and in the northeast with a slight to medium chance of showers on the far north coast. The chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Saturday 10 OctoberPartly cloudy in the northeast. The chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the remainder. Northwest to northeasterly winds.Sunday 11 OctoberSlight chance of showers in the northwest and medium chance of showers in the remainder with the chance of thunderstorms . Northeast to northwesterly winds, turning west to southwesterly in the southwest later.Monday 12 OctoberSlight to medium chance of showers in the eastern half with the chance of thunderstorm.
