MELBOURNE - Oct 8/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high is centred over the Tasman Sea this evening. A trough of low pressure is expected to develop over the west of the State on Friday and move slowly eastwards across the State during the weekend. A new high is expected to develop south of the Bight on Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East this evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 9 OctoberAreas of high cloud with the slight chance of showers south of Ceduna to Adelaide and about the eastern border south of Broken Hill. Possible thunder about the west coast of Eyre Peninsula. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to warm to hot over the remainder. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, shifting southerly in the far west during the day.Saturday 10 OctoberEarly fog patches about the far west coast. A slight chance of showers developing south of Ceduna to Leigh Creek, with possible thunder south of about Elliston to Hawker to Broken Hill. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northwest winds, turning milder southerly in the west and south.Sunday 11 OctoberEarly fog patches about the far west coast. A slight chance of showers about southern coasts, more likely about the Lower South East. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds in the east, turning moderate southwesterly throughout.Monday 12 October A slight chance of showers about southern coasts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm. Tuesday until ThursdayFine and mild to warm on Tuesday with moderate southeasterly winds.
