MELBOURNE - Oct 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high over the western Tasman Sea is slowly moving to the southeast and continues to direct a hot northwesterly airstream over southeast Australia. A cold front will reach the west and southeast of New South Wales late Tuesday bringing a milder southerly change. The front should continue to move northeast on Wednesday, reaching the far north at night. Another strong high will move through Bass Strait to the Tasman Sea on Thursday in the wake of the front where it will remain through the weekend. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and mostly sunny. Hot inland. West to northwesterly winds inland, fresh at times across the south, with northeasterly seabreezes on the coast.Fire Danger - Very High: Far North Coast, North Coast, Greater Hunter, Illawarra, Far South Coast and ACT.Tuesday 6 OctoberFine. Mostly sunny. Hot inland. Northwesterly winds inland, freshening in the far west, with northeasterly seabreezes on the coast. A late southerly change in the far southwest.Wednesday 7 OctoberSlight chance of showers on the south coast and ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in the northern inland. Southerly winds extending throughout during the day.Thursday 8 OctoberSlight chance of coastal showers. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere.
