Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies just off Queensland's southeast, and extends a ridge northwards along the coast. The high is also dragging warm to hot air from central Australia towards Queensland's southern districts.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and sunny across most of the state except for the slight to medium chance of showers about the east coast and ranges north of about Bowen. Light winds over the southeast, moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds elsewhere. Very warm over the southern districts.Fire Danger -  Severe over the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Very High over remaining eastern inland, and the northwest.Tuesday 6 OctoberThe high will move eastwards across the Tasman Sea on Tuesday, while an upper level high pressure system keeps most of Queensland fine, dry and sunny. Just the slight to medium chance of showers about the northeast coast and nearby interior in an onshore flow. Very warm over the southern districts.Wednesday 7 OctoberThe upper level high over central Australia should maintain fine, sunny and dry conditions across most of the state. Just some showers about the northeast coast in an onshore flow. Still very warm over the southern districts.Thursday 8 OctoberA new high pressure system will move gradually across southeast Australia, extending a new, firm ridge along Queensland's east coast, and pushing milder air across southeast Queensland. The slight to moderate chance of showers over the far eastern districts in an onshore flow. Fine, dry and over the interior.Friday until SundayThe new high will move slowly eastwards across the Tasman Sea, maintaining a ridge along Queensland's east coast and pushing showers across the far eastern districts. Fine, dry and mostly sunny over the interior.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDQ10700
