MELBOURNE - Oct 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure system over the northern NSW coast will drift slowly eastwards over the northern Tasman Sea later on Sunday and during Monday. A strong cold front will cross the Bight on Monday to reach western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon and then push across to the east of the State by Wednesday morning. The next high pressure system will move into the Bight on Wednesday producing a ridge across southern Victoria. Forecast for the rest of SundayDry and generally clear. Light winds and afternoon seabreezes.Monday 5 OctoberMorning fog patches over Gippsland then dry and generally sunny. A hot day with winds tending moderate north to northwesterly and freshening in the west.Tuesday 6 OctoberA hot and mostly sunny day with fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds. A cooler, gusty southwesterly change reaching the west during the afternoon then extending across central areas in the evening. Only isolated showers to follow the change over the southwest during the evening.Wednesday 7 OctoberPartly cloudy with isolated showers possible over Gippsland. Dray and mostly sunny elsewhere after morning cloud in the south. A mild day with moderate southerly winds.Thursday 8 OctoberDry and mostly sunny apart from isolated showers possible over east Gippsland. Warm in the north.
