Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system over the northern NSW coast will persist in that area over the weekend, before eventually moving further eastwards over the northern Tasman Sea on Monday. A weak cold front will cross Tasmania on Saturday night, with its northern tip entering southwestern Victoria and then extending across remaining southern area early on Sunday. A stronger cold front will cross the Bight on Monday to reach western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon and then push across to the east of the State by Wednesday morning.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMostly clear. Moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south and strengthening about Alpine areas.Sunday 4 OctoberDry and mostly sunny. Warm to hot inland with moderate westerly westerly winds, but milder near the coast with winds tending southwest to southerly.Monday 5 OctoberMorning fog patches in the south and west then dry and mostly sunny. A very warm to hot day with a light to moderate north to northwesterly wind, freshening in the west.Tuesday 6 OctoberA hot and mostly sunny day with fresh to strong north to northwest wind. A cooler gusty southwesterly change reaching the west during the afternoon then extending across central areas in the evening. Only isolated showers to follow the change over the southwest during the evening.Wednesday 7 OctoberPartly cloudy with isolated showers possible on and south of the ranges. Remaining dry and mostly sunny north of the divide. A mild day with moderate southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
