MELBOURNE - Sep 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over southeast Australia extends a ridge into the state's west, bringing more stable atmospheric conditions to the region, though an upper trough moving through the northeast will lead to more unsettled conditions over the northeast tonight. The ridge is forecast to be slow-moving and remain the dominant feature over eastern Australia through the weekend, promoting fine weather in most inland districts while coastal parts may see a few showers. The next significant frontal system looks set to cross the state on Monday followed by another high moving into western Victoria by Wednesday night. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA few showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. A few showers developing along the remainder of the coast. Fine elsewhere. Light and variable winds inland. Northeast to southeast winds along the coast.Sunday 6 SeptemberA few showers along the coast and adjacent ranges and developing over the southern border. Early fog patches and a little highland frost. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending northeast to northwesterly inland.Monday 7 SeptemberA few showers over the northeast corner and on the western ranges and slopes in the south. Snow above about 1100 metres. The chance of a shower on the south coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds, ahead of a west to southwest change extending to the east during the day.Tuesday 8 SeptemberThe chance of showers over the southern inland, mostly about the southwest slopes. Snow above about 1200 metres at first. Generally fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, freshening on the south coast.Wednesday 9 SeptemberFine apart from the slight chance of a shower on the coastal fringe.
