MELBOURNE - Sep 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure will move across the far west coast tonight and then extend northeastwards to reach a line Pukatja to Cape Jervis late Sunday morning and Oodnadatta to Marree late Sunday evening. A weak trough of low pressure will move across the southeast of the State on Monday evening. A new high will develop over the Bight on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight chance of a shower developing in the far west of the West Coast district in the evening. Cool to mild grading to warm in the west. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, freshening in the west ahead of a fresh southerly change in the far west late afternoon or evening.Sunday 6 September A slight chance of showers extending from the west south of about Tarcoola to Renmark, more likely over the southern agricultural area and a high chance over the South East districts. A chance of small hail over the Lower South East district in the evening with possible thunder near the coast. Mild grading to warm in the north with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwest to southerly change, strong about southern coasts, reaching a line Pukatja to Cape Jervis late morning and Oodnadatta to Marree late evening. Monday 7 SeptemberEarly frost and fog patches over the Flinders and Mid-North districts. A slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, more likely about the Lower South East with possible small hail early morning. A slight chance of a morning shower about the coasts of northern Spencer Gulf. Cool day, grading to mild in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending fresh west to southwest about southern coasts.Tuesday 8 SeptemberEarly frost over the Flinders Ranges. Early fog patches over the northern agricultural area. A slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and far south of the Northeast Pastoral, more likely about the Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East districts. Cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 9 September Areas of morning fog over the agricultural area and far south of the pastorals. A slight chance of showers about the South East and Murraylands districts and the remainder of southern coasts. Cool to mild day with light and variable winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 10 to 15 mm in the south of the Lower South East. Less than 2 mm over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastorals. Thursday until SaturdayFine.
