MELBOURNE - Sep 3/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system moving over eastern New South Wales this morning is expected to deepen offshore this afternoon, before moving steadily away to the east overnight. Rain and showers associated with this system will contract to the coast by evening, with a high pressure ridge approaching from the west bringing more stable atmospheric conditions. This high is forecast to become established over eastern Australia during Friday and remain slow-moving through the weekend, promoting fine weather in most inland districts while coastal parts see the odd shower or two. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayA few showers this evening, mainly in the east. The chance of thunderstorms in central and northeastern districts. Northwest to southwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty across the north and near the coast.Friday 4 SeptemberThe chance of showers east of the Divide, most likely about the coast between Sydney and Port Macquarie. A possible shower or two on the South West Slopes. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds, fresh along the central and northern coast.Saturday 5 SeptemberA few showers in the northeast, and along the coast north from about Batemans Bay. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light and variable winds inland, tending southeast to southeasterly near the coast.Sunday 6 SeptemberA shower or two east of the Divide, and possibly in the far southwest later in the day. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending northeast to northwesterly inland.Monday 7 SeptemberThe chance of a shower or two over the eastern quarter. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere.
