USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Aug 28/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Aug 28.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were lower.  The grains were
volatile during the week as the Dow was up and down sharply.  Concerns of the
global state of the economy especially China pressured all commodities.
Favorable weather across the Midwest and rebound in the US dollar also pressured
row crops.  Corn and soybean crop conditions were unchanged coming in at 69 and
63 percent good to excellent respectively.  Weekly export sales for corn came in
at 33.7 mb (854,800 mt) with a reduction of 5.2 mb (131,800 mt) for the 2014-
2015 marketing year.  Export sales of soybeans were at 48.7 mb (1,325,800 mt)
with a decrease of 4.8 mb (131,600 mt) for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat
export sales were listed at 19.5 mb (529,600 mt) with nearly all for the 2015-
2016 marketing year. Wheat was mostly 12—24 cents lower.  Corn was mostly 3-7
cents lower.  Sorghum was 13-40 cents lower.  Soybeans were 28-58 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 24
3/4 to 16 3/4 cents higher from 5.44 1/2-5.61 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No
2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 12 to 22 cents lower from 4.04-4.54 per bushel.
Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent
protein rail, was 23 1/2 cents lower from 5.79 1/2-5.84 1/2 per bushel.
Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 16 1/2 to cents lower to 1 3/4 cent higher
5.44 3/4-5.68 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 5 to 7 cents lower from 3.60-
3.67 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 4 1/4 cents lower at
3.68 3/4 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 7 cents lower from 3.56-3.64
per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 1/4 to 7 1/4 cents lower from
3.56 3/4-3.75 3/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 1/4 cent
lower to 1 cent higher from 3.75 3/4-3.77 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2
Yellow corn rail was 4 1/4 cent lower at 3.36 3/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 4 1/2 cents lower from 2.32-2.72 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 13 cents lower at 6.61 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 21 to 40 cents lower from 6.14-6.33 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 28 1/4 cents lower at 8.44
per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 48 1/4 to 58
1/4 cents lower from 8.99-9.19 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 28 1/4 cents lower at 9.29 per bushel.  Illinois 48 percent
Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 5.00 to 12.00 lower from 340.90-350.90 per
ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 109 points lower from
26.39-27.89 cents per pound.
