U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Aug 24/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady to weak.  Parboiled
prices steady to .50 lower.  Second heads and Brewers rice prices mostly steady.
Rice by-products:  Rice Bran and Millfeed prices mostly steady.  Ground hulls lightly
tested however prices mostly steady.  Harvest is progressing at a mixed pace with
field yields around 10% below average.  According to NASS as of Aug 23, Louisiana was
75% and Texas was 55% completed with all other states just getting started.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices firm.  Second heads and Brewers
rice prices mostly steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran prices weak; ground hull
prices not well tested.  California new crop rice fields remains in mostly good
condition.  Water continues to be coffee table discussions for both urban and rural
areas.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Aug 21th, Sep 15 closed .015 higher at
11.65; Nov 15 closed .01 higher at 11.925; Jan 16 closed .01 higher at 12.215.  US
dollar index on Friday settled at 94.80.
