USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Aug 21/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Aug 21.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Grain and soybean bids were mixed for the week.  Corn found support from the
lower corn yield estimates in the eastern corn-belt as the Pro-Farmer tour
continues this week across the Midwest.  Soybeans closed lower on good weather
conditions as temperatures have cooled down and rain fell across the Midwest
beneficial for filling pods.  Wheat was lower on expected spring wheat harvest
progress.  The Pro-Farmer tour had results in Ohio at 148.4 bpa compared to the
3 year average of 154.8 bpa and in South Dakota with 165.9 bpa compared to the 3
year average of 129.6 bpa.  Illinois corn crop was estimated at 171.6 bpa near
the same as USDA’s estimate.  The tour continues through Iowa and Minnesota.
The NOPA Crush Report for July came in at 145.23 million bushels, which was more
than expected and a record high for the month.  Soybean oil stocks came in more
than expected at 1.62 billion pounds.  Wheat was mostly 4-25 cents lower.  Corn
was mostly 7-15 cents higher.  Sorghum was 7 cents lower to 13 cents higher.
Soybeans were 19-39 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 4
cents lower from 5.61 1/4-5.86 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red
winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 12 to 17 cents lower from 4.16-4.76 per bushel.  Minneapolis
and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was
25 1/4 cents lower from 6.03-6.08 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail
was 8 cents higher 5.61 1/4-5.66 1/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 7 to 12 cents higher from
3.67-3.72 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 9 1/4 to 12 1/4
cents higher at 3.73 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 9 to 15 cents
higher from 3.63-3.71 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1 1/4 cents
higher from 3.64-3.79 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 7 1/4
cents higher at 3.76 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 12
1/4 cents higher at 3.41 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 6 1/2 cents lower from 2.36 1/2-2.76 1/2 per bushel.  US No 3 or better
rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not
available per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was
not available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 4 to 13 cents higher at 6.74
per cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 79 cents lower to 13 cents higher from 6.35-6.73 per
cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 39 3/4 cents lower at 8.72
1/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 19 3/4
to 34 3/4 cents lower from 9.57 1/4-9.67 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Yellow truck soybeans were 24 3/4 cents lower at 9.57 1/4 per bushel.  Illinois
48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was steady to 1.00 lower from
352.90-355.90 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 101
to 126 points lower from 27.48-28.98 cents per pound.
