USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Aug 14/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Aug 14.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Grain and soybean bids were lower this week.  USDA’s Crop Report on Wednesday
saw larger than expected corn and soybean estimates than trade expected.  Corn
production came in at 13.69 bb up from 13.5 bb forecast last month and above
most analysts’ estimates of 13.3 bb.  The average yield was predicted at 168.8
bpa, 2 bushels per acre higher than earlier forecast and about 4 bpa higher than
estimates.  Corn ending stocks came in at 1.7 bb for 2015-16 crop up 114 mb from
last month.  This had September and December corn dropping 33 cents over Tuesday
and Wednesday.  Soybean production came in at 3.92 bb with an average yield of
46.9 bpa with ending stocks at 470 mb up from 425 mb last month.  Wheat closed
mixed from 4-9 cents lower to 6-9 cents higher.  Corn traded 2-9 cents lower
with sorghum 3-10 cents lower.  Soybeans closed 11-31 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 4
1/4 to 9 1/4 cents lower from 5.65 1/4-5.90 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 4 to 9 cents lower from 4.33-4.88 per bushel.
Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent
protein rail, was 9 3/4 to 19 3/4 cents higher from 6.28 1/4-6.33 1/2 per
bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 3 3/4 cents lower to 6 1/4 cents
higher 5.53 1/4-5.58 1/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 10 to 14 cents lower from
3.55-3.65 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 2 to 4 cents
lower from 3.60 3/4-3.63 3/4 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 to 6
cents lower from 3.54-3.56 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1 1/2-2
1/2 cents lower from 3.62 3/4-3.77 3/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow
corn was 6 cents lower at 3.68 3/4 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn
rail was 9 cents lower at 3.28 3/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 8 to 13 cents lower from 2.43-2.83 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 9 to 10 cents lower from
6.61-6.70 per cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid
to the farmer, fob elevator) was 3 to 9 cents lower from 6.42-6.60 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 16 1/4 cents lower at 9.12
per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 31 1/4 to 39
1/4 cents lower from 9.77-10.02 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 11 1/4 cents lower at 9.82 per bushel.  Illinois 48 percent
Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 18.20 to 19.20 lower from 353.90-355.90 per
ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 67 to 117 points
lower from 28.49-30.24 cents per pound.
