MELBOURNE - Aug 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation Fresh winds will return to many districts today as a cold front sweeps across the state, bringing a few showers to parts of the southern inland. Conditions are expected to ease during Thursday as the front moves away, with generally fine weather returning at the end of the week as a slow-moving high pressure system drifts across from the west. This high is forecast be the dominant feature in the region through the weekend, before the next frontal system arrives on Monday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayA few showers over the southern inland, possibly extending to the central inland and the south coast later. Showers increasing to rain periods areas on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow above 900 metres on the southern Alps. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost on the slopes and ranges. Westerly winds, freshening across most southern and central districts, turning colder southwesterly later.Thursday 6 AugustThe chance of drizzle or showers about the western slopes of the ranges, mostly in the morning. A few snow showers on the Alps above 1200 metres. Early frost about the ranges and slopes. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds.Friday 7 AugustSlight chance of showers or drizzle on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges, and a possible shower or two on the northern coastal fringe. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Widespread early frosts inland. Southerly winds near the coast, and light winds inland.Saturday 8 AugustFine apart from the chance of a shower or two in the south and on the far north coast. Partly cloudy. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges.
