MELBOURNE - Aug 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will cross Victoria early Wednesday morning with a cold southwesterly airstream to follow. A weaker cold front will move across Tasmania and Bass Strait on Thursday. A large high pressure system will be located near Adelaide on Thursday, moving slowly across Victoria on Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers, more extensive in the east with local hail. Showers more isolated over the northwest. Snowfall above 800 metres, rising to 1000 metres at night. A cold day with moderate to fresh and gusty southwesterly winds extending throughout in the morning.Thursday 6 AugustEarly frost in the north. Scattered showers in southern and mountain districts, only isolated showers extending over northern plains. A cool to cold day with generally light to moderate southwesterly winds.Friday 7 AugustEarly fog and frost inland. Isolated showers in the south, contracting to the coast in the afternoon and evening. A cool to cold day with generally light and variable winds.Saturday 8 AugustMorning fog and frost. Isolated showers mainly about the coast and ranges.
