MELBOURNE - Aug 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge is positioned over the north of the State, as a front clears from the southeastern districts of SA this morning. A high pressure system will develop over the west of the State on Thursday, before moving eastwards to be centred over the eastern states on Friday and Saturday. A trough of low pressure will approach the west of the State late Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy early morning fog. A slight to medium chance of showers about the agricultural area, south of the Pastoral districts, and the West Coast district, increasing to a high chance of showers over the southern agricultural area. Showers easing throughout during the afternoon. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Thursday 6 AugustEarly fog patches north of about Adelaide, clearing north of about Roxby Downs. A slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area and West Coast district. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 7 AugustA slight chance of showers about southern coasts and in the Lower South East. Early fog patches over the Murraylands, and Upper and Lower South East districts. Early frost over and to the east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders ranges, and over Eyre Peninsula. Cool grading to mild in the far west. Light winds turning northeast to northwesterly during the day, fresh at times in the west.Saturday 8 August Fine. Early fog patches over the Murraylands, and Upper and Lower South East districts. Early frost over and to the east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders ranges, and over Eyre Peninsula. Cool grading to mild in the west with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 10 mm about the ranges and southern coasts. Less than 2 mm elsewhere. Sunday until TuesdayThe slight chance of showers over mainly the southern agricultural area, more likely at times in the south.
