Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 3/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough in the northeast will move further northeast today bringing a southerly change to the north coast but little if any rainfall. A cold front will bring a strong southwesterly change and a few showers to parts of southeastern NSW today, then weaken as it moves further north. A high pressure ridge will develop over NSW on Tuesday with a generally fine though cool to cold day expected after some early frost inland. Another cold front is expected to cross southern NSW Wednesday with showers about the western slopes of the ranges and west to southwest winds strengthening, then cross the remainder of the state Thursday before a high pressure system gradually approaches Thursday night and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondaySlight to medium chance of showers over the southeast, increasing to a high chance on the western slopes of the southern ranges, mostly clearing late in the day. Snow on the southern ranges to about the 1000 metre level. Slight chance of a shower in the southwest, and along the central and northern coast late in the day and evening. Fine elsewhere. A warm day on the far north coast. Colder, fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout, strong and gusty in the southeast.Tuesday 4 AugustSlight to medium chance of showers on the northern half of the coastal fringe and over the southern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost on the slopes and ranges and southern inland. Cold south to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 5 AugustMedium to high chance of showers on and west of the range over the southern half, with snow levels falling to about 800 metres. Early frost on the ranges and slopes. Cold to very cold southwest winds, fresh to strong in most districts.Thursday 6 AugustSlight chance of drizzle about the western slopes of the central and southern ranges, mostly in the morning. Slight chance of a shower Hunter coast and the far south coast. Early frost on the ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere.
