Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 2/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front and rain-band lie over southeastern NSW and are expected to move slowly further to the northeast and weaken tonight. A stronger cold front is expected to bring a cold southwest to southerly change to most of NSW during Monday though little rainfall is anticipated. A high pressure ridge is likely to extend across the state during Tuesday before another strong cold front affects the state on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundaySlight to medium chance of rain in the south and about the western slopes of the central ranges, mostly clearing tonight. Snow on the southern ranges lowering to around the 1300 metre level. Fresh and gusty west to northwesterly winds ahead of a southwest to southerly change in the west and south tonight.Monday 3 AugustSlight to medium chance of showers, mainly over the southeast, increasing to a high chance on the southwest slopes of the ranges. Snow to about 800 metres. Early frost in the Snowy Mountains district. Mostly fine elsewhere. Cold, south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 4 AugustSlight to medium chance of showers on the northern half of the coastal fringe and over the southern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost on the slopes and ranges and southern inland. Cold south to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 5 AugustMedium to high chance of showers on and west of the range over the southern half, with snow levels falling to about 800 metres. Early frost on the ranges and slopes. Cold to very cold southwest winds, fresh to strong in most districts.Thursday 6 AugustSlight chance of drizzle about the western slopes of the central and southern ranges, mostly in the morning. Slight chance of a shower Hunter coast and the far south coast. Early frost on the ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere.
