U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Jul 13/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady.  Parboiled, Second
Heads and Brewers rice prices steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran and Millfeed
prices steady to weak on limited confirmed spot sales.  Ground hulls not well tested.
Domestic demand remains good as mills continue processing regular customer orders.
As of Jul 12, NASS reporting new crop rice condition as mostly good with AR 18%, LA
75%, MS 32% and Texas 54% currently headed out.  Louisiana should start harvesting
rice around the end of July.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to firm.  Second heads and
Brewers rice prices steady to weak.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran prices weak; ground
hull prices not well tested.  Mills continue processing regular customer orders.  As
of Jul 12, NASS reporting California new crop rice condition as good to excellent
with 17% headed out.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Jul 10th, Jly 15 closed .04 higher at
10.855; Sep 15 closed .035 higher at 11.085; Nov 15 closed .035 higher at 11.355.  US
dollar index on Friday settled at 96.03.
