MELBOURNE - Jul 7/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front moves over the Tasman Sea followed by a high pressure ridge extending from south of Tasmania. This will bring about a southerly wind change and unsettled weather over the east of the state today. Unsettled weather continues in the east on Wednesday as the ridge moves over the Tasman Sea where it is expected to remain for the rest of the week. A weak cold front and upper level disturbance are likely to affect the state on Thursday and Friday before a stronger cold front moves through on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayHigh chance of showers developing about the coast and adjacent ranges south of about Coffs Harbour. Possible snow showers on the Alps above 1200 metres. Mostly fine elsewhere. Early morning fog and highland frost patches. Southwest to southerly winds, freshening along the coast.Wednesday 8 JulyHigh chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Early morning fog and highland frost patches. Fine elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 9 JulyMedium chance of showers about the western slopes of the ranges and on the far north coast. Possible snow above 1400 metres in the Snowy mountains. Early morning fog and highland frost patches. Mostly fine elsewhere. Light to moderate east to northeasterly winds.Friday 10 JulyHigh chance of rain over most of the eastern half. Possible snow in the Snowy mountains above 1200 metres. Mostly fine elsewhere.
