MELBOURNE - Jul 7/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure system west of Tasmania will continue to weaken during the day. A high pressure system to the south of Tasmania will drift eastwards to reach the southern Tasman Sea by Wednesday. The next cold front will cross the Bight on Thursday but weaken as it enters Victoria on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayMorning fog patches or low cloud and possible drizzle clearing from the north inland areas. Scattered showers over the southeast easing during the morning and isolated showers in the northwest. Cloudy periods but mainly dry over central areas. Light snowfalls possible above 1300 metres. A cool to cold day with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 8 JulyMorning fog and frost patches. Isolated showers in the northwest but otherwise a dry and partly cloudy day. Cool to cold with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Thursday 9 JulyMorning fog and frost patches. Isolated showers in the north and west but dry in the south. Cool to cold with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.Friday 10 JulyIsolated showers, more widespread in the northeast. Snowfalls above 1200 metres.
