LITTLE ROCK - Jul 6/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.
National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, long grain milled rice prices mostly steady, instances 1.00 lower off the high side in Arkansas. Medium grain prices firm. Parboiled, Second Heads and Brewers rice steady, instances 1.00 lower in Arkansas. Rice by-products: Rice Bran and Millfeed prices steady to weak on limited confirmed spot sales. Ground hulls not well tested. Domestic demand remains good as mills continue processing regular customer orders. As of Jul 5, NASS reporting new crop rice condition as mostly good with AR 14%, LA 66%, MS 25% and Texas 43% currently headed out. In California, medium grain milled rice prices firm. Second heads and Brewers rice prices steady to 3.00 lower with outside inventories playing a role in price decline. Rice by-products: Rice Bran prices mostly 20.00 lower; ground hull prices not well tested. Mills continue processing regular customer orders. As of Jun 28, NASS reporting California new crop rice condition as good to excellent with 16% headed out. CME Rough Rice settlements for Thursday Jul 2nd, Jly 15 closed .025 higher at 10.38; Sep 15 closed .01 higher at 10.635; Nov 15 closed .01 higher at 10.90. US dollar index on Friday settled at 95.95.
